Our coaches are proven leaders in teaching the game of field hockey at all levels. Our head coaching staff consists of US Field Hockey Level 2 and Level 3 Accredited Coaches. We have coached and played NCAA Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 Field Hockey, high school and youth level field hockey programs. We have been US and Canadian National Team members, All-Americans, USA Field Hockey Senior and Junior High Performance Coaches, NFC Coaches, Regional Futures Coaches/Regional Directors, AAU Jr. Olympic coaches, and so much more.
Sue is the Director and Head Coach of Wizards Field Hockey Club. Over the past three decades, she roamed the sidelines as Head Coach of the Harvard University Field Hockey Team. She has worked extensively with the U.S. National Field Hockey Program for more than 24 years as, among other things, a member of the coaching staffs of the United States National Team, Women’s Junior and Senior High Performance Teams, the United States Olympic Festivals, the U.S. Under-18 and Under-21 Teams, Futures Regional Coach, and Junior and Senior National Team Camps. Sue was the Director and Head Coach of Crimson Field Hockey Camp, which she founded in 1989. Sue is a US Field Hockey Level 3 Accredited Coach.
Sue has coached 10 All-America selections, dozens of Academic All-American selections, 46 Regional All-American selections, four Ivy League Players of the Year, three Ivy Rookies of the Year, and over 40 All-Ivy League first team selections. She guided the Crimson to four NCAA tournament berths, three Ivy League titles and six ECAC tournament appearances, and coached at least one player to Regional All-American status and the All-Ivy first team in 23 of her 24 seasons. Sue’s teams have earned NCAA Academic Public Recognition Awards for exceptional work in the classroom, which is awarded to just the top 10 percent of all Division 1 field hockey programs. She also regularly served as a Northeast Regional Chair and member of the NCAA Division 1 Field Hockey Committees.
Sue is a 2008 graduate of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy and 2010 graduate of NCAA WCA Dimension 2 and served on the Board of Coaches for the Alliance of Women’s Coaches.
Sue was a member of the US National Training Squad from 1980-1985. She played on the US National and Under-21 Teams, and was a member of the 1984 US Field Hockey Olympic Training Squad. She is a graduate of The University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where she received a B.S. in Physical Education in 1982. She played field hockey and lacrosse for UMass and was a field hockey All-American and team captain.
Donna Chung will serve as Head Goalie Coach and Technical Director of Indoor Field Hockey for the Wizards. Donna has significant playing and coaching experience at the collegiate and international levels. She has served as goalie coach for the U. S. Women's Indoor National Team.
During her coaching career, Donna served as Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Harvard University (1990-95 & 2005-2009) and at Boston College (1997-2000). She has been Head Coach and Assistant Camp Director at Crimson Field Hockey Camp, and has coached in the US Futures program. She served as the goalkeeper coach of the USA Indoor Team in 2011. Donna is a US Field Hockey Level 2 Accredited Coach and a US Field Hockey Level 2 Accredited Umpire.
As a member of the US National Team from 1985-1990, Donna played in significant international tournaments including the World Cup in 1986 and 1990, the Pan-American Games (which won a Silver Medal) in 1987, and had the distinct honor of playing on the grandest of stages as a member of the US Olympic Team in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Donna was also a member of the USA Indoor National Team from 2004-2010. She served as the goalkeeper for the Indoor Pan-American Teams that won a Bronze Medal in 2010 and a Silver Medal in 2005 and 2008.
Donna also had an illustrious and distinguished collegiate playing career. Within the Big Ten Conference, Donna left a legacy of accomplishments and individual awards. As a result of her collegiate accomplishments she was inducted into the University of Iowa Hall of Fame.
